“During the campaign, we slept at my house and we stayed up until late. In the morning at 6 o’clock President Uhuru Kenyatta was in my boma (cowshed) milking cows while I was still asleep,” Cyrus Jirongo reveals.
Jirongo recounted an occasion when Uhuru spent a night at his Kitale home and upon waking up, he found the now President busy attending to his cows and even loaded the milk on a pick-up.
During a television interview on KTN, Jirongo disclosed that at one time, he was surprised to find Mr Kenyatta milking his cows.
The former MP was giving a background of how he had previously assisted President Kenyatta in his political career, including helping him get an opportunity to vie in the 2002 Presidential polls.
“In 2002, President Uhuru Kenyatta was my project. We pushed him very hard and our choice was not an accident. Uhuru is a very social person and extremely likeable,” he stated.
“Uhuru is extremely intelligent and on ability I want to believe President Uhuru Kenyatta can be one of the best presidents the country can produce,” praised Jirongo.
However, the politician cast some doubt on how the President was running the country, asking him to stop being reluctant and take charge of the nation.
