US-based Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee has come out to address her partner’s alleged infidelity which has been the discussion on the interwebs for a while.
Vanessa, who was promoting Rotimi’s new project on her social media page, faced comments from a fan known as Amydiasss who confronted her about her baby daddy’s alleged cheating.
The netizen expressed concerns over Vanessa’s decision to step away from her music career to support Rotimi.
“Girl, the fact that you quit your career to be this dude’s hype man, and he won’t even marry you, is heartbreaking for real. I hope you find your way back to what you love. You completely gave yourself up for him. Sigh,” Amydiasss commented.
In a quick rejoinder, that she was glad she was supporting her husband.
“I will gladly support my husband and gladly raise our children and gladly stand for what I love. My Sister, life is not social media. P.S.: The royalty checks still coming in.”
Amydiasss persisted telling Mdee that Rotimi was cheating on her.
“I know for a fact he cheats on you, and I feel so sorry for you. He doesn’t deserve you throwing your career away because he cheats in the most disrespectful way. And he’s not your husband. He’s not yet married you. I really hope you make out well in the end because you deserve so much better. He’s a sex addict and weirdo. You guys are playing perfect for social media,” Amydiass said.
Mdee told Amydiasss that her marriage was not for social media.
The Tanzanian singer faced similar concerns in 2020 when rumours emerged that Rotimi was battering her.
However, Mdee responded saying her partner had never laid a hand on her.
“I will not be bullied on social media; I will not be that person Wanahabari wataandika kitu juu yangu alafu nitabaki kimya. Team yangu ya social media, imenijuza kuhusu comments kutokana na watu kusema kuwa Rotimi ananipiga, ati ni mtu ambaye anapiga wanawake,” Vanessa said.
