Usher’s plan to marry his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea was made public after he obtained a marriage licence in Las Vegas.
The RnB superstar and Jennifer obtained a marriage license ahead of the singer’s halftime Super Bowl performance.
It was suspected that Usher planned to walk down the aisle with his longtime sweetheart after his performance but it didn’t happen.
The 45-year-old singer received a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
Court records show their marriage certificate has not yet been filed.
Usher and Jennifer have been dating since 2019. They were first spotted together publicly at producer Keith Thomas’ 40th birthday party in June 2019.
Jennifer and Usher have two children together. They welcomed their first child together, daughter Sovereign Bo, in 2020, followed by their son, Sire Castrello, in 2021.
Usher also shares two sons, Usher V and Naviyd Ely, with his ex-wife, Tameka Foster.
“I have an amazing partner, a support system,” he said. “We have an amazing dynamic between our relationship where I’m able to be passionate still about what I do and have an incredible partner to work through some of the harder times as a young man dealing with children.”
“I’m very happy, very fortunate to have an incredible friend, not just a partner,” he added of Goicoechea, a record executive originally from Miami. “She’s my best friend and I love her,” Usher spoke of his partner in a past interview.
