Ukweli and Karun came together a couple of months ago, late last year to be precise to release one of the most phenomenal hit records you will ever get to listen to dubbed ‘Roses’ which went on to be streamed over 600, 000 on Spotify alone.
Ukweli who is currently working on his debut album slated for release soon released his first ever commercial single in ‘Roses’ back in November 2018.
Ukweli who is a record producer and DJ has a history of making hit records for international artistes with his major resume being that he produced a record for JABS featuring Willow Smith.
Ukweli has also performed at festivals worldwide such as Bravalla festival in Sweden and Nyege Nyege in Uganda to name a few.
Ukweli’s production which is based on a collage of varying elements: African percussion, R&B influences, hip-hop, indie rock, and more got the attention of South African hit maker Tellaman who recently released his best performing ‘God Decides’ project thus far to jump on the remix of the song which in turn will help bridge the musical connection between Kenya and South Africa since this is the very first mainstream collaboration between two mainstreams artistes from either countries.

The ‘Roses’ record is about the feeling of being in love and connecting with someone on a deep level.
