A seating Kenyan President earns millions as salary per month, what’s the essence of paying presidents when they retire and they are already millionaires anyway??

Former President Mwai Kibaki and Arap Moi have been awarded with additional pension benefits worth millions of shillings.

Kibaki and Moi are sharing a Kes 64 million pension budget per annum which is a 64% increment from the last financial year.

The two retired presidents each take home Kes 1,814,000 per month; monthly pension of Sh560,000 each, house allowance (Sh379,500), fuel allowance (Sh247,500), entertainment perks (Sh247,500) and Sh379,500 for utilities like water and electricity.

Kibaki and Moi are also entitled by law to have two personal assistants, four secretaries, four messengers, four drivers and bodyguards. All at the expense of taxpayers!!!
