Months to Malindi by-election, president Uhuru Kenyatta camped at the Coast visiting various towns and meeting Coastal leaders.
Uhuru Kenyatta aimed at wooing the Coastal people into his pouch but the results of Malindi by-election proved Coasterians are strong in opposition.
The man who spearheaded ODM’s victory in Malindi is now paying the price; Uhuru is now intimidating Governor Ali Hassan Joho again.
It’s not the first time he’s doing so, Joho protested when Uhuru flew to Mombasa and visited various place without being notified.
Usually it’s the governor who welcomes the head of state when he visits counties. But President Uhuru Kenyatta chose not to inform Joho of his visit to Mombasa.
The Mombasa governor today morning stormed the office of Coast regional police boss Francis Wanjohi, demanding to know why his five bodyguards had been withdrawn.
Joho says acting Mombasa Urban OCPD Patrick Njoroge on Thursday morning went to his office and asked the bodyguards to return to their respective stations.
Joho blasted Coast regional boss saying government’s intimidation won’t soften his stance. He reminded them God wouldn’t abandon.
“Hii siasa ya vitisho mtaacha. Sisi sote ni Wakenya na kulikuwa na serikali kabla yenu.” Joho was quoted as saying.
