Majority Leader at National Assembly Aden Duale has described the cordial relationship he has with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In an interview with the Nation, Duale disclosed Uhuru calls him frequently to tell him how much he values him as the Majority Leader.
“He always tells me; Mheshimiwa Duale, shikilia hapo kabisa (Hon Duale, remain firm). He even calls to wish me a good night. With this I feel I am indeed part of the government,” Duale was quoted as saying.
The Garissa Township MP also revealed President Uhuru pays keen interest in parliamentary debates, and occasionally calls him to ask whether Jubilee will carry the day whenever there’s an important vote.
Duale says his duties in parliament have left him with little time for people in Garissa Township constituency but he admits he has asked Uhuru for favors in terms of development projects in his constituency.
