Uganda Communications Commission’s (UCC) boss Godfrey Mutabazi, during a phone interview explained why social media platforms have been disabled in Uganda.
He said the Electoral Commission raised a concern that candidates could still use the platforms to carry on with the campaigns yet these campaigns had already been closed.
He further said security agencies were worried that some members of public could misuse the platforms to incite violence.
