‘Tribal Meetings’ will Not be Allowed in Nakuru Town

‘Tribal meetings’ will not be allowed in Nakuru town, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has said.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mbugua said he will not allow individuals to hold meetings with members of a community whom they speak the same language.

He added that such meetings in select areas will not be allowed since his government values peace and unity of people.

“If you want to hold a meeting in Nakuru you are free as democracy and the constitution says, but we will not allow you to meet with only one community and talk in a language only you can understand,” the Governor said.

Mbugua was alluding to a meeting which was held last Saturday by Cord principal Raila Odinga.
