Winnie Rubi, popularly known as Awiti, made a career out of attracting admiration and controversy. She plays a bully housemaid in popular Kenyan comedy drama series ‘The Real Househelps of Kawangware’.
Awiti’s big break came in 2012 when she secured her first professional role on a parody TV show ‘Hapa Kule News’ which used to air on Kenyan TV station KTN.
However it was from her role on ‘The Real Househelps of Kawangware’ that Awiti really scaled the height of fame in Kenya and beyond.
Awiti is a mother to a 9 year old girl. In 2017 she made headlines in Kenya when news broke that she walked out of her matrimonial home leaving with all household items.
