Today’s eye candy: Miss World Kenya 2019/2020 Wavinya Maria

Wavinya Maria was crowned the new Miss World Kenya 2019/2020 after trouncing several models who were eying the crown.

The 2019 edition of Miss and Mr World Kenya was held at Two Rivers Mall on October 5th. Wavinya Maria and Franklyne Asoyo emerged as the winners in female and male categories of the pageant.

18-year-old Maria is still a varsity student, she is a first-year student at Mount Kenya University which is located in Thika, Kiambu county.

Maria is from Nyandarua and not Ukambani as many people think, her grandmother is a half Kamba and half Kikuyu so she took after her second name.

Winning Miss World Kenya pageant restored Maria’s confidence in the modeling industry because she contested Miss Tourism Kenya last year and lost.

“After failing to make it in Miss Tourism Nyandarua, I picked my lessons and went into the Miss World Kenya competition ready to make amends. I decided to do this like I was doing it for Kenya in the Miss World finals and there, the title came,” Maria told Pulse.
