The Silverstone plane – Fokker 50, 5Y-IZO aircraft was destined for Lamu Airstrip via Mombasa Airport. The cause of the skid has not immediately been established.

NTV anchor Dennis Okari was at Wilson Airport at the time of the accident, he was traveling on another Silverstone Air plane to Eldoret.

Taking to Twitter, Okari lamented about the sorry state of Wilson airport saying the runway has potholes. The NTV anchor revealed that their plane hit a pothole as it taxied on the runway.

“I was on board @silverstoneair in the morning at 7:15am – Eldoret & met some of the passengers on that flight to Mombasa. The runway was very wet but what struck me was the potholes. Our pilot was literally dodging them as we taxied. We hit two of them hard #WilsonAirport,” Dennis Okari tweeted.
