The late Jamal Mohamed and Mohamed Dahir Kheri spirits live on and have once again revisited famous Pangani Six policeman Ahmed Rashid.
Mr. Ahmed Rashid worked as a police officer at the Pangani Police Station.
What happened on Friday, March 31, 2017, altered his life irrevocably.
A video circulated on social media and went viral showing Ahmed Rashid shooting at two robbers who were not carrying weapons and looked to have their hands bound behind their backs. He was wearing a maroon T-shirt.
Jamal Mohamed and Mohamed Dahir Kheri were the names of the two teenagers.
Five-plus years later, the spirits are baying for justice.
On November 24, the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) head Anne Makori revealed that Ahmed Rashid had been identified as the officer who killed the boys.
Mr. Ahmed Rashid will be charged with killing Mohamed and Dahir in that fateful incident captured via Armature video in 2017.
It’s reported that police began pursuing the pair after Dahir, a member of the Super Power gang, uploaded a picture of himself on Facebook while wearing a police jacket that was purported to be that of officer Abdi Aziz, who had been murdered by gangsters, one of the Pangani Six team of security officers. Mr. Rashid served as the leader of the Pangani Six.
On December 8, Mr. Rashid will enter a plea to the murder charges against him.
Many Kenyans remember this day, and a good number of them say; he should not be prosecuted.
A majority are saying criminals can be very brutal if you ever meet them, you either lose your valuables, life, or get injured or both. Other Kenyans say, Ahmed should have arrested the teens instead of shooting them since they were not armed; killing them is a chargeable offence and so he should go to jail.
Will he go free? or he will be jailed!
