You know it’s a big deal when the veteran record producer Tedd Josiah himself gives you props to your craft especially when you are an artiste.
Tedd Josiah who has worked with the notable musicians not only from Kenya but regionally also ranging from Kalamashaka to Nameless just to name a few is a well-established producer who commands influence in the music industry up to today. Know it’s such a big deal for any artiste to be acknowledged by Tedd Josiah.
Tedd Josiah was reacting to ‘Hawatapenda’ hit record by the talented Wakadinali which comprised of Domani Munga and Scar.
“Seriously influenced by Mau Mau, which is really good, I like that because they have taken the influence of their predecessors and they’ve tried to really listen to what their predecessors were doing and move it that notch next. That’s what we need, we need people to take over from the way K-Shaka and the Mau Mau” Tedd Josiah said in part after watching the full music video of ‘Hawatapenda’.
Tedd Josiah is really impressed by Wakadinali and likes the way they chose to use their words in a witty manner without being provocative in any way.
He also gave them props for not demeaning any women in the music video though a model is in the video.
“hip hop is all about sometimes praising yourself and you know, showing how much of an ego you have and making fun out of it. They’ve done that, I like the fact that they didn’t really misuse ladies in the video, uuhm that’s good, they had a lady in the video” Tedd Josiah noted ” …and they behaved which is good and I like their flow, it’s good. They have potential, a lot of potential and they are going to go places.” Tedd Josiah added talking about how Wakadinali are going places in the music industry in the near future.
Tedd Josiah went on to commend them for shooting a good music video even though they didn’t have enough budget for the music video, they tried to make it work with the budget they had and urged Wakadinali to give props to the music video director who shot them that video for doing a good job.
This is a milestone for the hip hop group Wakadinali who have been prolific in the industry since they made a name for themselves in the hip hop realm.
