9 out of 10 musicians who topped YouTube streams in Kenya are Tanzanians, with Diamond Platnumz taking the top spot.
YouTube released the analytics of music streams for the month of May 2023 and it simply confirmed the dominance of Bongo music in Kenya.
Kenyans love to stream Bongo music and this has been confirmed by the fact that Tanzanian musicians dominated the list of top 10 music streams on YouTube in May 2023.
Diamond emerged as the most streamed musician in Kenya on YouTube in May 2023, raking in 8.54 million views.
Rayvanny came second with 7.95 million views, followed by Harmonize with 6.2 million views while Zuchu was fourth with 6.06 million views.
Jay Melody took the fifth position with 5.08 million views, Mbosso was sixth with 4.91 million views, Marioo was seventh with 3.34 million views, Alikiba was eighth with 3.19 million views while Rose Muhando was ninth with 3.1 million views.
Msanii Music Group, a SDA choir, was the only Kenyan music outfit to make the cut on the YouTube list having emerged 10th with 2.93 million views.
Msanii Music Group is a record label based in Nairobi that produces Gospel Music in Kiswahili often sang by a choir of 9 singers.
