Tanasha Donna discussed her career, her return to music, and her relationship with Diamond Platnumz during an interview with TheChoice Live2 in Rwanda.
The Kenyan singer was in Rwanda on for a series of engagements.
Reflecting on her hiatus from the music scene for over a year, Tanasha explained, “It was out of my control due to contractual issues, which I’m now free from.”
She also addressed her past relationship with Diamond Platnumz and the perception that marriages between musicians can hinder their careers.
When asked about Diamond Platnumz’s management’s view that two singers in a marriage can’t work, Tanasha responded, “Honestly, this is the first time I’ve heard of it. I’m not surprised such a narrative exists. There might be some truth to it, or maybe not. We’re no longer in that chapter.”
On the topic of Diamond Platnumz allegedly not providing child support, Tanasha clarified, “That was four years ago, and it’s not true. Currently, we are in a very good place. We are friends and co-parenting. He is the father of my son, and he will always be a part of my life. I respect him.”
Tanasha emphasized that the past is behind them, saying, “That interview was from four years ago. We’re in 2024 now, and we’ve moved on. We are at peace with each other. We are a family and will always be one.”
When asked about her relationship with the mothers of Diamond’s other children, Tanasha said, “Yes, I talk to Zari and Hamisa. We get along well and love each other. At the end of the day, we are adults.”
She also mentioned that their children have a close bond.
“The children see each other and talk on video calls. They love each other, so it’s all love over here. No bad vibes.”
Regarding her collaboration with Diamond on the song “Gere,” Tanasha commented, “No, it’s all love on this side. We’ve all moved on.”
When asked about her current dating life, Tanasha laughed and hinted, “Maybe there’s someone special somewhere. It’s not a casual situation; I’m very ethical and selective about it.”
