Broke Kibera-raised rapper Stevo Simple Boy has recently taken steps to create new social media accounts after allegedly facing demands from his former management for a significant payment to regain control of his original accounts.
In a statement, Stevo shared, “I couldn’t retrieve my old accounts, so I had to start fresh. I need the support of my fans as I move forward without management.”
Acknowledging the challenges he has faced with his past handlers, Stevo became entangled in a financial disagreement with his former management groups, MIB Africa and Chingi Boy.
The rapper’s immediate former manager Chingi Boy claimed that he personally paid Ksh300,000 to Simple Boy’s former management MIB Africa to be granted control over his social media accounts.
“MIB Africa wanted 300k for Stevo’s accounts, I paid Vaga half before proceeding with business,” Chingy Boy said.
Echoing support for Stevo, Gengetone artist Cartoon 47 called upon prominent figures in the industry for assistance, saying, “I urge Oga Obinna, Babu Owino, Peter Salasya, and Sofire to stand by Stevo during this time of need.”
Through these developments, Stevo Simple Boy’s plea for backing resonates across the entertainment landscape, as he navigates new beginnings amidst the challenges posed by his former management.
