Kamba music sensation Stephen Kasolo has been hospitalized after a dramatic collapse during a high-stakes protest walk toward the seat of power in Nairobi.
The gospel artist had joined fellow musician Biez Kaviru, who has spent the last four days trekking an agonizing 160 kilometers from Kitui County to deliver a message to President William Ruto.
However, while his spirit was willing, Kasolo’s body reportedly “surrendered” shortly after he joined the group at Mlolongo.
After covering just 12 kilometers of the final leg, the singer was forced to call for medical help, admitting that he had severely miscalculated the physical toll of the journey.
The drama unfolded in the dusty outskirts of the city, where Kasolo was pictured slumped on the ground, receiving emergency first aid.
While he initially hoped a “short stop in the wilderness” would suffice, his condition worsened, requiring an immediate dash to the hospital.
“Naona mnafanya mzaha lakini nimelemewa (I see you are joking, but I am overwhelmed),” a humbled Kasolo told his followers.
“Everywhere hurts. I’ve had to go to the hospital. I thought this was simple, but it is hard work.”

The trek, led by the resilient Biez Kaviru, aims to raise awareness for the rising cases of cancer in Kenya.
Kaviru’s four-day march has captured the national imagination, but Kasolo’s collapse serves as a stark reminder of the grueling nature of the 100-mile odyssey.
Despite his own medical emergency, Kasolo heaped praise on his colleague’s “superhuman” endurance.
“Four days of walking is no joke. Respect where it’s due,” he noted.
“Congrats, Kaviru. Your resilience speaks volumes.”
Social media was flooded with messages of concern as images of the “exhausted” singer went viral. While some critics mocked the artist for his lack of fitness, the majority of Kenyans hailed his attempt to support a noble cause.
As Kaviru nears the President’s office at Harambee House, all eyes are now on Kasolo’s recovery and whether the government will heed the call for improved cancer facilities that sparked this punishing march.
