Smart Djaba is the next big thing in east Africa, just wait and see

Smart Djaba is a new age pop singer, songwriter, recording/performing artiste. Born and raised in North Kivu, DR Congo and he was introduced to the arts and entertainment early in 2001 . In 2007, Smart formed and managed a trio called 213 Banlieue which is french for Slums. The group later separated before recording and releasing a single project due to the clashes political clashes at that time in DR Congo.

Consequently, he and his family were separated and displaced from North Kivu, DR Congo to Uvira. Which forced him to flee to Kenya.

In 2011, Smart Djaba arrived at Kakuma refugee camp.

He is a winner of numerous awards, he also won a music competition organized and sponsored by LWF (Lutheran World Federation) an NGO associate to the U.N.H.C.R (United Nations High Commissionaire for Refugee).

So far he has made collaborations with several artistes both locally and internationally like Kenyan hip hop star Octopizzo and RnB singer Sultan Wa Pwani, South Sudan hip hop artist Emmanuel Jal,  American hip hop artist Just Q and Congolese native hip hop artist King Moses to name a few.

Smart Djaba is currently signed and managed artiste to ALKA MUSIC GROUP AFRICA,Nairobi based and has so far released a series of singles among them; ‘Nitakupa’ , ‘Iyolela’ and ‘Maua’ .

Smart Djaba’s music is considered the most influential music. Currently signed under ALKA production studios and managed by VEKTA Kenya, Alka production studios, Ceo and Tumaini. The singer just released matatizo cover which was originally done by Tanzanian Wasafi signed artiste Harmonize on Dec 26th 2016.

The multi talented artiste is currently working on releasing a new single dubbed ‘I dont care’ come January 2017.

He manages to fuse French, Congolese(lingala), Swahili and English and it is also key to note that couple of his songs have been used in movies locally in the new series Sandstorm which premieres on citizen this January.
