In a shocking transformation that has left fans stunned, celebrated musician Smallz Lethal has finally said goodbye to the dreadlocks he has worn for a decade and a half, revealing a clean-shaven head and a new chapter in his life.
The artist, known for his signature coiled locks, took the clippers to his hair in a move he says fulfills a personal promise and pays a heartfelt tribute to his late grandmother.
Speaking candidly in an interview with Biggest Kaka, the artist revealed the deep personal reasons behind his dramatic new look.
“I had said once I reached 40, I would shave it off,” he declared, explaining the timing of his decision. “And also, the way my grandma passed… it’s like to honour her. We were always at odds because of this hair; she always wanted me to cut it.”

The emotional revelation points to a man closing one chapter and honouring a beloved matriarch’s memory. In a symbolic act, he not only cut the dreads but went all the way, saving his head completely clean to bald.
Today, the weight is gone. After fifteen years, I have shaved my dreadlocks. It feels strange to touch my scalp and feel the air where there used to be a heavy, tangled history. Those locks were my armor. They saw me through my loudest rebellions and my quietest moments of prayer. They were a symbol of the fighter I had to be and the humility I strove to maintain.
For over a decade, I wore my Rasta values on the outside for the world to see.
But as the hair fell away, I realized something: the fire of the rebel and the peace of the humble man aren’t in the hair.
They are etched into my character. I am not losing my identity; I am simply unburdening it. I am stepping into the world “light,” carrying the lessons of the last fifteen years in my heart instead of on my head.
I am still a warrior. I am still a student of life. I am just beginning a new chapter.
