Gospel singer-cum-pastor Linet Munyali aka Size 8 has opened up about how money and fame made her lose true friendship.
The mother of two said in just three years after she shot to fame as a secular musician the breakthrough took a toll on his relationships.
Speaking during an interview with a local publisher, Size 8 noted that she lost true love when she became rich and famous.
“Money is not everything, because when I got money and fame, I lost true love, I lacked peace, people didn’t like me for me. I got stressed and drank alcohol.
“My real friends got jealous, and fake friends got even more jealous and I started drinking every day and sometimes, I found myself in the club alone in the morning.
“The world is very lonely. Many people love me but how many love the real me?” Size 8 said.
Size 8 noted that she thought that she could not succeed in the gospel music industry even when she had turned over a new leaf.
“I had started a backup business in case the music didn’t go well,” she said.
Size 8 added that the biggest challenge in her career was illness.
“I have lost two children to high blood pressure,” she said.
Size 8 added that from 2015 to 2023, she was in and out of the hospital but now she has fully recovered.
