Singer Evelyn Nakabira alias Evelyn Lagu, has succumbed to kidney complications after a battle that saw her travel to Turkey for treatment.
Evelyn’s death was announced by the President of the Uganda National Musicians Association (UNMF) Eddy Kenzo on Monday morning September 18, 2023.
“We took these pictures last Tuesday at the Jam session and I can’t believe your gone dear Evelyn Lagu.
You have fought a big battle my sister may your soul rest in internal peace 🙏 😭,” Eddy Kenzo mourned Evelyn Lagu’s death on Facebook.
Evelyn Lagu has been battling with kidney failure for a long time, a condition that led her to undergo a kidney transplant in Turkey.
However, due to her deteriorated health condition at that time, she was advised not to do the procedure and she has since relied on dialysis until today when she breathed her last.
The singer succumbed to kidney complications on Monday morning, September 18th 2023 at her home in Nabugabo.
The deceased was a movie actress born in Kalungu, Masaka, on June 1, 1982.
