We later contacted his team who had a press release as below
Official press release statement from Shukid on the Victoria Kimani Nairobi Show
On March 30th 2018, Shukid was slated to perform at Victoria Kimani’s Safari Kenya tour show in Nairobi at Diamond Plaza 2.
Shukid proposed to perform at the show with a bio and one sheet and was contacted by Victoria Kimani through an e-mail, with a number to reach out to for any other information about the show.
When he did, the communication was poor and Shukid had no idea what time he was to perform or for how long. He arrived at the venue at 10:30 p.m. as advised but he still had no idea what time his set was. Every performer was allowed a maximum of 2 songs and when Shukid ended up on the stage minutes to 3 a.m., the Victoria Kimani team unceremoniously cut his set short due to the inattentiveness of the overseer.
He narrated his ordeal via the the story that we did Shukid vents over getting treated badly by Victoria Kimani’s Dj on tour
Due to the uproar caused by Shukid’s mistreatment and any misinformation in the blogs that have already posted this, we, at ID37 Music and Shukid would like to release an official statement.
We can confirm that Shukid did not fabricate any part of his story and would like to make it clear that Shukid would never slander a fellow artists’ name because as he said in his post, “We are all artists of the same struggle.” We fully support and stand by Shukid’s statements as there was and would like to have formal communication from Victoria Kimani and her team about the happenings of Friday so as to clear the air. We hope that through sharing this story, the industry will pay more attention to upcoming artists and treat them with respect no matter how “small” or “irrelevant” they may seem because they do have something to offer and are influencers in their fields.
Shukid is available for interviews and can be booked via 0776745180. We are still digging up this story to find out more.
We are yet to hear from Victoria Kimani in all this hullabaloo
