South African Amapiano deejay Chiedza Mangena alias DJ Chichi is stranded in Nairobi after she was duped by a Kenyan promoter.

DJ Chichi, who specialises in playing South Africa’s Amapiano music that is gaining popularity across the world, arrived in Kenya almost two weeks ago for a series of performances and media organised by a promoter called Chris Black.

Chris Black abandoned DJ Chichi at a hotel without paying her or clearing the bills.

According to a source who reached out to Eric Omondi, DJ Chichi has a Ksh200,000 debt that she needs to raise. This is money that was spent on her accommodation, food, transport, tickets etc that has to be cleared before she leaves. She also needs a ticket back home.

“So this is DJ Chichi from South Africa. She has been stuck here for weeks now with Bill’s mounting to over Ksh 200K after a Kenyan Promoter brought her here and Ghosted her and left her without pay, Accommodation or an air ticket!!! This is MY ORDER to all PROMOTERS in this Country!!! DO NOT!!! and I repeat DO NOT invite anymore Foreign Artists until we have Order. First of all you are killing our own and then secondly you are shaming us Abroad!! DO NOT!!! And if you Try I’ll ensure your EVENT FLOPS!!! TRY ME IDIOTS😡😡😡😡 TRY ME!!!” Eric Omondi ranted in a post on social media.

DJ Shiti offered to pay for DJ Chichi’s fight ticket while commenting on Eric Omondi’s post.

“Apande Rembo Shuttle akuje Kitengela arauke na ndege za sato ntamlipia😢😢😢,” DJ Shiti wrote.
