Kampala Crème cast Sheena Holm has officially pulled the plug on her life in her native country Uganda—at least until the Wi-Fi returns.
In a dramatic series of Snapchat updates shared on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, the lifestyle content creator announced her “UGEXIT,” fleeing across the border to Kenya after the Ugandan government implemented a total internet blackout ahead of the January 15, 2026, presidential polls.
For Holm, the loss of connectivity was more than an inconvenience; it was an emotional “nightmare” that triggered immediate panic.
“I’ll never understand how we live in a country that literally just decided to switch off the internet because of elections,” she wrote.
“Like, do you know how crazy that is?”

Holm, who is known for her bubbly and cheeky personality on DStv’s hit show, admitted that the sudden digital silence led to a bout of “severe sadness.”
In a candid moment with her followers, she highlighted the plight of a generation that depends on the web for both livelihood and sanity.
“Some people suffer from internet addiction, and this could really cause severe sadness and anxiety,” she confessed.
“This no internet is killing me. It keeps coming and going, I wanna cry.”
It didn’t take long for the resort owner to trade the digital darkness of Kampala for the open networks of Nairobi.
Sharing a photo from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) later that morning, the star appeared relieved to have landed in a “safe zone” for social media.
“I realised I’m not one of God’s strongest soldiers. I couldn’t do it lol!!!” she captioned the airport snap, poking fun at her own inability to endure the blackout.

Holm’s escape comes as Uganda enters a period of intense political tension, with President Yoweri Museveni seeking to extend his 40-year rule against challenger Bobi Wine.
The UCC’s decision to suspend all public internet access—citing the prevention of “misinformation”—has been widely condemned by human rights groups as a “brazen attack” on freedom of expression.

While millions of Ugandans are left to navigate the election without real-time information, Kenya has welcomed one of Kampala’s most famous socialites.
For Sheena Holm, the “prize” for leaving her home wasn’t political—it was the ability to finally refresh her feed.
