Shakib Cham Lutaaya, the husband of socialite Zari Hassan, has set the record straight regarding rumors about his financial dependence on his wife.
In a candid interview on his YouTube channel, Shakib addressed claims that he was provided with a car by Zari, revealing that he has been self-sufficient and owned his first car well before meeting her.
“People say that I was borrowing a car. Can someone borrow a car and stay with it for 10 years? Tell me one person who has ever done that,” Shakib stated, dispelling the rumors.
He shared that he bought his first car, a BMW, in 2015 while living in South Africa.
“I don’t know how many shillings it was in Ugandan money, but in South Africa, it was 20k Rand,” Shakib added, emphasizing his financial independence.
Shakib, who is also a men’s clothing entrepreneur, denied the allegations of using Zari’s cars for visits, asserting that since 2015, he has owned numerous luxury cars.
“For me, when I see someone praising a car, it’s a very small thing. Because when you’re working, everything is easier. You’ve been listening to the people I used to hang out with, and then you expect me to be doing all that time?…”
He continued, “…for me, a car is a very small thing. I have owned I don’t know how many cars, and I have never taken any car from Zari.”
Shakib’s revelations highlight his self-made success and aim to dispel any misconceptions about his reliance on his wife’s wealth.
His statements provide insight into his personal achievements and the financial independence he has maintained throughout his relationship with Zari.
