Selina is a household series in Kenya that almost everybody you know is an ardent keen follower of the show or you know somebody who knows somebody who loves watching Selina.
The Telenovela series has captured the attention of Kenyans since its first very episode that aired in 2018 and ever since it’s been a fan’s favorite Telenovela in Kenya.
The series sees talented actors; Abel Amunga as Luke Mckenzie, Pascal Tokodi as Nelson Mackenzie, Celestine Gachuhi as Selina, Peter Kamau as Biko, Gloria Songoro as Jacqueline Makenzie, Mbeki Mwalimu as Zoe, Helen Keli as Patricia, the late Kone Nouhoum used to play Reagan Makenzie on the show before he was replaced by Brian Ogola. Lenana Kiriba has also played the role of the spoilt rich boy Reagan on the telenovela in the past.
Other renowned actors keep on joining the cast of the hit telenovela as it continues to entertain Kenyans on weekdays.
The casting director of Selina, the renowned Kenyan actor Gerald Langiri took to social media to celebrate the telenovela hitting the 800 episodes mark since they started to air the hit telenovela series back in 2018.
Langiri admitted that it’s not an easy feat for the Selina team to have achieved such an accolade and thanked all the team members who were involved in making Selina a success and still continue to do so.
“Celebrating a big milestone in the Kenyan film industry!! 800 plus episodes for a daily show (Mon- Friday) is no mean feat,” Gerald Langiri wrote in part on social media. “To everyone who has walked through this show… barikiwa!!,” he added.
Selina’s Storyline
Selina(played by Celestine Gachuhi) is an intelligent young woman of humble beginnings who has excelled in her fourth-form exams and is bound to join university.
Her mischievous stepmother, Kristina, crafts a wicked plot to sell her off to work as a maid for the Mackenzies, putting on hold her dreams to pursue further education.
Despite being between a rock and a hard place, Selina wins favor with her employers for having a golden touch to whatever she puts her hand on.
