Sean Kingston, the 34-year-old R&B star-cum-rapper, has been extradited to Florida and booked into jail after being charged with a $1 million fraud scheme alongside his mother.

The musician was booked into the Broward County jail on Sunday, June 2, 2024 – according to jail records.

The ‘Beautiful Girls’ singer, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was arrested on May 23, 2024, at an Army training base in California’s Mojave Desert where he was performing.

Kingston’s mother, 61-year-old Janice Turner, was also arrested and taken into custody by a SWAT team that raided their rented mansion in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The duo is accused of conducting an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, identity theft, and related crimes.

According to arrest warrants, they stole money, jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade, and furniture worth almost $1 million between October and March.

The warrants reveal that Kingston and Turner stole: Almost $500,000 in jewelry, more than $200,000 from Bank of America, $160,000 from the Cadillac dealer, more than $100,000 from First Republic Bank and $86,000 from the maker of customized beds.

Kingston’s legal team has vowed to fight the charges and is confident of a successful resolution. The singer’s mother has a history of criminal activity, having pleaded guilty to bank fraud in 2006 and serving nearly 1.5 years in prison.

This is not Kingston’s first run-in with the law. He was already serving a two-year probation sentence for trafficking stolen property.

The ‘Fire Burning’ singer has been ordered to surrender his passport and will not be allowed to possess firearms. He has also been banned from having contact with his mother.

Kingston’s fans are reeling from the shocking news, with many taking to social media to express their disappointment.
