Kikuyu gospel singer Sammy Boy serving life sentence in prison argues his innocence

Sammy Boy claims he is a victim of an unfair trial that handed him a life imprisonment sentence shuttering his music career and dreams.

The renowned Kikuyu gospel artiste famed for his hit song dubbed ‘No Ira Tu’ (Just Yesterday) was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2021 after years of the court case in which he was found guilty.

Sammy Boy was handed a life imprisonment sentence for robbery with violence, his predicament left his fans completely heartbroken.

Speaking during a recent interview, the gospel singer narrated his woes started when a close friend of his left some items in his house so that he could look after them.

It would later emerge that the goods left in Sammy Boy’s care were stolen.

He was arrested and tried but he is crying foul that he was wrongfully convicted. .

“My friend, a family friend actually, left the goods in my house. There were several phones and other items. I was arrested because the goods were found in my care and they had been stolen from a foreigner in Gilgil,”  Sammy Boy lamented.
