The sudden death of one of the most talented, gifted Mugithi musicians to ever picked up a microphone Mureithi John Walker has shocked a lot of people since it was confirmed.

Mureithi John Walker has been entertaining fans for years, something which he loved so much to do so much so that he used to have a Facebook stream performing live for his fans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A lot of Mugithi musicians have reacted to the news of Mureithi John Walker passing away which has come as a shock.

Among the renowned Mugithi musicians who reacted is Mugithi maestro Samidoh who had nothing but praise to the late Mureithi John Walker as he shared a touching message on his social media account.

“Mùríithi John Walker, you are a legend who made beautiful music. You will be missed but you will live on through your music, Úhiki wí múrio, Nyau íríaga mbia, Njohi na ahiki among many others You will always be within us, you will never be forgotten. R.I.P MJW” Samidoh shared on social media.

Samidoh wasn’t the only Mugithi musician who offered his condolences, Machete as well, Jose Gatutura also shared his condolences to the Muriithi family writing, “My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Muriithi John Walker. May your soul Rest in Peace.”

In a span of five years, the Kikuyu secular music industry has been dealt a heavy blow, more than any other genre of music in the country.

In those short years, we’ve seen Joseph Kamaru, John De’ Mathew real name John Mwangi Ng’ang’a, Murimi wa Kahalf,  Timothy Njuguna alias Mighty Salim, Salim Junior pass away.
