Ruth Matete asks for monetary support as she celebrates first wedding anniversary without her husband

Ruth Matete got married to Nigerian sweetheart Beloved John Olakami Apewajoye in a private wedding ceremony on November 22nd 2019.

Matete was however widowed just five months into her wedding. She lost her husband in a tragic accident on April 11th 2020.

Ruth’s late husband died from injuries he sustained after a fire accident at their home, he was admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital for two weeks before he succumbed to fire-related injuries while undergoing treatment.

The late Apewajoye was buried at the Langata cemetery in Nairobi on July 23rd, three months after he died. Most of his relatives from Nigeria were not be able to attend the burial because of Covid-19 travel restrictions.

Matete eulogized her late husband in a heartfelt post on Instagram while marking her first wedding anniversary.

In the lengthy Instagram post, she talked about her desire to see her daughter Reyna Toluwa (born after her husband’s death) grown to serve the Lord.

Ruth also remembered the vows she made on her wedding day, ‘till death do us part’ but she emotionally noted that death took her beloved husband earlier than expected.

The mother of one concluded her post by asking for financial assistance as she could not yet manage to resume work after a troublesome pregnancy.

“Friends, our till number remains the same, in case you wish to support us.5495849. Whatever you can, will go a mighty long way as am still not able to work. God bless you friends and please keep us in your prayers,” wrote Ruth Matete in part.
