Nigerian American actor Olurotimi Akinosho alias Rotimi and his Tanzanian fiancée Vanessa Mdee early in November announced that they were expecting their second child together.
The actor, 33, and his singer/songwriter fiancée, 34, are expecting their second baby together, a daughter.
The couple is already parents to son Seven Adeoluwa Akinosho, whom they welcomed in September 2021.
“We’re excited to announce that our baby girl is on the way. What a beautiful testament to GOD’s favor. We are overjoyed,” the couple told People.
Rotimi has now revealed that he wants to have more children with Mdee.
Speaking in a video posted on his Instagram page, Rotimi admitted that being an only child in their family made him want to have more children.
“So I want my son to have someone he can rely on, who looks after him,” he explained.
“They know they will be there for her. When my daughter looks to her right, she knows she has an older brother who is going through the same thing at the same age,” he added.

Rotimi further stated that he did not want to wait too long to have children.
“You know I didn’t want the gap of six, seven years where they are basically just children, so I wanted them to be very close in age and Vanessa understood and she wanted the same thing. I felt that I had that partner,” he said.
Speaking in another interview with The Pivot Podcast, Rotimi said he settled for an African woman because they are submissive.
“When you have an African woman, you get a woman who is careful about our understanding of ‘how to treat a man and how to be submissive,'” he said.

“It’s just a balance that’s hard to find and I’m not saying you don’t find that in American women but many African women have been made queens in their minds and also great wives,” he added.
