Robert Alai is more than ready to join the controversial, ever hectic life of Kenyan politics come 2022.
The controversial blogger who has crossed paths with the who is who in the world of politics and upper echelon leadership in Kenya has opened up about his intentions of becoming the next Member of Parliament come 2022 in the general elections.
Speaking at Radio Maisha’s show ‘Hot Seat’, the Head of State’s Commendation recipient said his decision came about after the people of Nyando urged him on numerous occasions to vie for the parliamentary seat.
He is merely just following the people’s wishes to be their next parliamentary representative in the Nyando region in Nyanza.
“I am going to view for the Nyando MP seat in the coming elections,” said Alai, adding that running for public office is for “service and not greed.”
Robert Alai also opened up about how he got himself intertwined with the world of blogging in the first place.

Apparently, he stumbled upon the profession that made his name, not by choice but by circumstances.
“I don’t get paid (for exposes). I have done a lot of free work and I think it’s time they started paying. I have made names for people but I didn’t see a need to charge them.
I’m not a blogger, I’m a computer scientist- I only write because I have an opinion,” he told the radio hosts.
Speaking about his Head of State Commendation, Robert Alai, HSC revealed that the Head of State Commendation title only comes with a medal and letter from the President, he reiterated there are no monetary awards are attached to the commendation whatsoever.
“I’m not elected but I influence society. Whether it’s positive or negative, it depends on who you ask. We have saved and changed lives.

Alai believes his Head of State Commendation was long overdue.
