Kenya is politically preparing for the next general elections 2017 where Uhuru Kenyatta will be seeking another term probably as Raila Odinga and his CORD team hope to finally, if it works on their favor operate from statehouse and not the streets protesting.
But why has it been impossible for Raila Odinga to win the Presidency, after all these trials?
Apart from the rigging or ‘elections were stolen’ narrative, there are these tales about fear of his perceived method of doing things by the ‘rich’ and large Mt. Kenya ‘mafia’.
These fallacies believe it or not have rooted themselves in the minds of many other Kenyans and Raila Odinga should work on showing or proving otherwise.
Are there revenge motives in his mind of all the ills done to him by previous regimes? Are the people who castigated his suffering afraid?Should they be?
If the answer is Yes? Then, the presidency might be a pipe dream that will never come to be even after 100 years of campaigning.
Another thing that soil his chances? He ‘hates’ or the ‘luos’ hate kikuyus and vice-versa vice. I once heard this tale from mature men a local, and believe me, this is one of the biggest poison against Raila Odinga, being spread like the Gospel, how he triumphs over it, Only GOD knows.
Power is sweet, and as we gear up for 2017, Kenyans are waiting to see, if Raila Odinga will hand over the torch to Kalonzo or Weta, this is one great TEST that many are waiting to see how Team CORD fairs.
Another issue at hand..
Goons who show up, at CORD rallies are another reason, if this trend continues Raila Odinga’s chances and wish might never materialize. You see, you have every right to demonstrate but thenagain, when you go looting, destroying property, you are jeopardizing a certain percentage, guess one rotten potato spoils the rest of the sack. And Raila,or CORD got no control of that!So sad..
And Monday’s protests have been chaotic..truly devastating!
Reports reaching us is that, a gang on goons attacked and tried to steal from a woman in town and one hustler lost his day’s supply of sodas along Moi Avenue. Now tell me, how do you convince such people to support CORD? These bafoons are spoiling it for Raila Odinga and the more the damage and loses? The bigger and deeper the dent will be.
CORD politicians…
His close circle politicians many at times have uttered statements that easily fall in hate/bad speech, inciting, threatening, fear trading, well, politicians have running mouths and we know they diarrhea nonsensical stuff all in the name of sensationalizing a public rally/gathering.
These close friends and team Raila or team CORD should understand the power of the tongue and keep in check what they speak. Not that JAP are any better, but they should be the better option (CORD).
CORD’s voting block, should ensure that maximum voter count is achieved as well. But as per IEBC’s last count, they are over 2 Million support less.
Overall, Raila Odinga has every right and capability to be the President of this great country Kenya.
He is candid about moving things forward to make it a better nation. If he truly means it,from the Aljazeera interview.
Having said that,I hope CORD will capitalize on looking into THESE loop holes.
