Whatever gods that he has annoyed, have put out a bounty on him and the results are absolutely scary for anyone who wants to mess with those gods. This week has been one of craziness for the billionaire. It started out with his Malindi home been raided and a cache of weapons been discovered. Then to his restaurant at ABC place called Caramel being closed down. Then now the drama of the police looking for him to arrest him. I will nickname this type of a week as a “Babu Owino Week”. A week from hell put more simply.
Then he got a welcome guest. National Super Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga spent the night at the besieged home of NASA billionaire financier Jimmy Wanjigi on Tuesday, October 17. Raila Odinga arrived at the residence to show solidarity with Wanjigi, who was being sought after a cache of weapons were discovered at a Malindi house linked to him.
According to a statement from Dennis Onyango, the press secretary for Raila, the opposition leader was also at the palatial Muthaiga home to keep watch over the situation. I need me friends like this who can come through when police are on my case and help! Hehehe! The police officers left the home on Wednesday morning without arresting the billionaire. This is really a good friend! Mpaka the police fail to find me when he comes through! I kid!
Senior police officers from several security agencies in Kenya surrounded Wanjigi’s Muthaiga home in Kiambu county and worked around the clock to attempt to arrest him. They vowed not to leave the premises until they had Wanjigi in their custody.
Police surrounded Wanjigi’s Muthaiga home since Monday, October 16, and left on Wednesday, October 18, after failing to locate him in the house. The police believed Wanjigi, his family and a lawyer were holed up in a strong room within the premises, hence their inability to locate him since Monday.
Salim Lone, Raila’s Adviser, also issued a statement, saying the opposition leader arrived at the Wanjigi residence on Tuesday, October 17, at 7.45 PM, after police broke into the home and claimed there were weapons inside as well. If you ask me there is a kagod that Wanjigi has pissed of and that kagod is trying to get even. But what do I know anyway?
