The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader expressed his excitement after numerous churches made a move to ban politicians from talking politics in their churches.

Raila is happy about the move made by the churches reiterating that it’s the right thing to do.

Some of the churches that have banned political speeches from their churches are Catholic, AIPCEA, and Anglican.

Speaking on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Ngecha, Kiambu County, the former Prime Minister thanked all the churches that have banned politicians from talking politics in churches stressing politicians should address their utterances away if not outside the places of worship.

“I thank the church for standing for the truth and equality. The church should not be a place for politics,” Raila said in Kiambu County.

The move made by the churches has somewhat thwarted the Deputy President’s maneuvers and strategies where he’s always depended on the church to advance and perpetuate his 2022 political ambitions ahead of the Presidential elections.

Political pundits believe that Ruto’s chances to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 might dwindle drastically now that the ban on politics in churches has taken effect where he’s been subtly campaigning for his 2022 presidential bid.
