Mombasa County on Thursday, March 4, went to a standstill after the leader of ODM party Raila Odinga and the County’s governor took to the streets to interact with the common Wananchi.
Joho and Raila caught the attention of Mombasa residents a day after the ODM party leader was in Kilifi County where he was given a warm reception by Governor Amason Kingi.
Their first stop was at Kwa Karama in Kongowea Nyali Sub-county.
“As the coastal leadership, we are interested in partnerships that address the issues that affect our people including devolution, resource allocation, land, economics and etcetera.
With the interests of our people at heart, together we shall soar to greater heights.“ Joho said sharing on social media.
Scores of Mombasa residents came out to see and hear the two leaders speak.
The two leaders took time to address the Changamwe residents together.
Raila Odinga reiterated what the County boss said.
The two respected leaders also took their time to visit a popular Swahili restaurant known as Barka Restaurant where they ate their lunch.
Political pundits have been keen to note Joho’s ambitions of ascending to the highest seat in the country after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s term ends next year.
At the moment, the ODM leader, Raila Odinga isn’t keen on talking about the presidential seat, at the moment he’s been seriously involved with pushing the BBI agenda that came to fruition after the historical 2018 handshake with Uhuru Kenyatta.
