Renowned Luo musician Princess Jully has made a triumphant return to the music scene after years of hiatus, and she’s using her platform to fight against the stigma surrounding people living with HIV/AIDS.

The ‘Dunia Mbaya’ hitmaker, who is herself living with HIV, has spoken out about the importance of sticking to treatment and living a healthy and fulfilling life.

In a video shared on TikTok, Jully urged those in a similar position to hers to take their medication seriously and prioritize their health.

“Take your medication! So you can have kids, educate them, buy a car, drive it, have fun, board a plane and enjoy. This is heaven,” she said. “And if you abandon treatment, you will die. Now that I am taking treatment, what have you defeated me with?”

Jully also emphasized the importance of prayer and faith in addition to medical treatment. “Take your treatment and pray to God,” she said. “Look at how beautiful I am.”

The veteran musician, who has been living with HIV for some time, has been open about her experiences and has used her platform to raise awareness about the disease. She has also encouraged others to do the same, urging them to keep the peace and support one another.

“I want to advise people to take their medication,” she said. “And also remember that it’s not just about taking medication, it’s also about living a healthy lifestyle. So take care of yourselves, and let’s fight against this stigma.”
