Presidential elections are an expensive affair. Scratch that! Any election is an expensive affair, be it for the class rep to that of political office, the stakes are high and so the sacrifices both monetarily, psychologically and physically are many. I think the toughest part about winning an election for the aspirant is the face they have to put on for the voters to choose them. Which means lying, manipulating and conniving to get their way.

The old adage, that a person would sell his own mother to get ahead never rang truer for most seeking political office. Word on the grapevine is that there is a presidential candidate who was struggling to even put up billboards before the August 8 poll but has suddenly come into serious money. How did he get the money? Don’t ask me? Do I work for the C.I.A? But it is mighty suspicious. Hmm?

The candidate who is on the fringes, meaning that he has no chances of ever winning the elections unless by an act of God has now become Mr. Moneybags. He has now erected several campaign banners in different city roads before the October 26th presidential poll. A group of MPs was overheard gossiping about how the academic turned politician had run into such money. Hmm? Who might this man be? I haven’t got a clue. Might you the reader know him? Hmm?
