Authorities last Saturday stopped the much hyped Eldoret’s Colour Festival which was organized by Yehlah Crew.
Over 2000 teens had turned up at Gulab Lochab Grounds last Saturday for Color Festival only to be told authorities had cancelled the event over fears it could be another Project X.
Organizers of Color Festival issued a statement after the event was called off by the police:
Colour Festival Kenya. To The Public At Large First of All We would Like To Apologize For any inconvenience That has Happened today 12th March 2016. We as Yehlah Crew had made arrangements with officials from different Government Bodies that are responsible to hold the event. Unfortunately our event (Colour Festival Kenya Eldoret Was cancelled with no tangid reason or no supporting documentation. Claiming that our event is/was Part of ”Project X” We tried to explain What our Intentions were in Eldoret as (Colour Festival) but they did not adhere to our patience forcing our Fans to wait outside the premises where we had already paid. It’s with such pity that we had to be crucified for Other peoples Mistakes. We Clearly had right intentions asking for protection from the police whereby they did not agree to our settlement. Investigations are underway as we shall communicate further on all our platforms. In the mean time bear with us through this difficult situation. To all our Fans who had already purchased their advance tickets online or physical tickets. We request that you hold on to your tickets as they are still valid Until the New dates are Confirmed.
