Police drop investigations into actor Charles Ouda’s death ahead of his cremation

Late actor Charles Ouda committed suicide and police were investigating his death in a bid to rule out foul play in his sudden demise.

Ouda took his own life on the night of February 3, 2024, after coming home from a party held by the producers of Maisha Magic’s TV series Salem where he was one of the main actors.

The late actor hanged himself using a belt at the balcony of his apartment in Westlands, Nairobi, after excusing himself to go and smoke.

Homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) interrogated with those who were present when Ouda died and analyzed forensic evidence to determine how the actor died.

The actor was not suffering from any medical condition and neither did he get involved in an accident while at the party where he was last seen alive.

DCI ultimately dropped the investigation having concluded that there was no foul play in Ouda’s death.

Police closed the file just as Ouda’s family prepare to cremate his remains on Thursday February 15, 2024 at the Karikor Crematorium.

Ouda got engaged to a journalist, Ciru Muriuki, in September 2023 catching everyone by surprise as they had never been seen together.
