Nyeri County is making news again after one iconic wedding went down on Sunday making real the saying; its better late than never.
The lovebirds, Daniel Thenya Kanda and Gladys Wahu tied the knot at a colourful ceremony held at the Nyaithe AIPCA Church in Tetu, after 76 years of marriage.
“We are indeed very excited as we witness our parents marry each other. We will definitely follow their example,” said Joseph Kanja, the couple’s eldest son.
Daniel Thenya Kanda, is aged 96, and Gladys Wahu 104.
Their grandchildren also expressed their pleasure as they witnessed the event, saying it was very historic and inspirational.
Archdeacon of Mukaro Diocese Kihuria Ngujiri testified that the couple has not had domestic issues for 76 years, and urged the young people to learn from them.
Kanda, a father-of-five, said he will take his wife on honeymoon to a secret location.
