Pastor Victor Kanyari made his debut on TikTok and interestingly he bagged a quarter of a million shillings in his first days of operation.
The controversial preacher was strategic while making his entry on the social media platform as he pleaded with the self-proclaimed president of TikTok in Kenya to allow him to operate unabated.
Kanyari joined TikTok to minister and also to ask the Christian faithful to give him offerings in the form of money.
He urged those with prayer requests to also send them, and this appeared to win the love of his faithful who began sending him TikTok gifts that include lions.
One of the most coveted TikTok Live gifts is the Lion. It is worth about 400$.
Sending the Lion on TikTok Live displays a virtual lion that walks up to the screen and roars at the creators and audience.
It’s one of the most impressive TikTok Live gifts you can send to someone.
Kanyari revealed that he made more than Ksh400,000 from the TikTok gifts sent to him.
“TikTok nimepata more than 400,000. Nime tengeza 400k, wamenipea bure. Na hiyo 400k nataka kupeana kwa childrens home,” he said.
Kanyari further told off critics who have been pestering him to quit TikTok.
“Imagine na watu wanaimbia nitoke TikTok, ukae peke yako TikTok, sitoki. I am just here because I love you, I love tiktok na ningependa watu amabe wananyanyaswa na shetani,” he stated.
Nyako had criticized pastors like James Ng’ang’a, Kanyari and others for joining the social platform.
The controversial Germany-based TikToker claimed many preachers will close the churches soon because young people were no longer going to places of worship.
It was after Nyako made a veiled threats to preachers joining TikTok that Kanyari decided to make peace with her, realizing the influence she wields on the platform.
