Mary Biketi, the woman at the center of the viral photos with former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, has vehemently denied any involvement in their photo leakage.

In an interview with Tuko, Biketi expressed her dismay over the accusations directed at her and the subsequent backlash she has faced. She stated, “It feels totally bad but there is nothing much I can do. At the same time, I have been receiving positive comments and I just thank God and the people out there for the encouragement.”

Asserting her innocence, Biketi emphasized her status as a private individual, stating, “As a private person, I could not leak the photos… But now that they are out there, there is nothing much I can say.”

Furthermore, she hinted at potential legal action against the responsible party, highlighting the detrimental impact on their families. “We are deliberating taking legal action against the person responsible for the leakage…the action has affected our families,” Biketi explained.

Despite facing criticism and speculation regarding her relationship with Oparanya, Biketi maintained her composure, stating, “I am not afraid. He is a polygamous man and I respect the other wives.”

Seeking to clarify her position, she emphasized her self-assurance and discretion, stating, “I don’t need to explain much. I already know myself and the kind of relationship I’m in. Those who want to talk will talk.”

Meanwhile, Oparanya addressed the situation in a video shared on Biketi’s Facebook page, reaffirming his commitment to protecting his family amidst the false allegations. “I have a big family to protect so those sending out fake news should stop…I have been in Mombasa for a few days meeting my people from my own community,” Oparanya stated.
