ODM is sinking and its leader Raila Odinga may leave it as well.
Mungaro said more MPs will leave the “hostile” party before the 2017 general election
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga may be forced to leave the party, a member has said.
Kilifi North MP Gideon Mungaro, an ODM rebel, said ODM was going down he would not be surprised if its leader abandoned it as well.
“The party is hostile and don’t be surprised if you see Raila also quitting,” said Gideon Mungaro as published by The Star on Saturday, July 16.
Gideon Mungaro has been working with the Jubilee coalition and has openly declared that he would defend his seat using a Jubilee ticket in 2017.
Several members have claimed that ODM was undemocratic and were looking for others which would treat them better.
Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba, Funyula MP Paul Otuoma and Sirisia’s John Walukhe have already resigned from their positions in ODM and are set to join another party.
Ababu was the ODM secretary general, Otuoma was the party vice chairperson while Welukhe was the party’s Bungoma county chairman.
Migori Senator Wilfred Machage also warned that he would lead his Kuria community out of ODM if they are not taken seriously.
What will Raila Odinga do to keep his members in.
