Octopizzo becomes one of the first Kenyan rappers to speak against the perpetual oppression of a black man across the globe and he has spoken against it in an emotional post.
Currently, the globe is talking about the racism experienced by black people in America and racial profiling by the police and the globe is protesting to end racism experienced in America, especially in America.
This comes after George Floyd’s death was watched live on video by a former Minneapolis police, Derek Chauvin.
Octopizzo, sharing an emotional, yet powerful video of the history of black people being oppressed over the years made a bold statement telling his white friends who aren’t against George Floyd’s murder and aren’t speaking against it right now are not his friends at all.
“If you are a white friend, colleague, or workmate and you are keeping silent or “neutral” during this time. I don’t wanna talk to you anymore and I hope you know why.” Octopizzo said in part.
Octopizzo has made a name for himself for always speaking against the injustices in the community and doesn’t shy away from talking against police oppression not only in America but also in the country.
Octopizzo was the only mainstream rapper who was behind Ugandan politician and musician Bobi Wine and he was even on his rally together with Babu Owino.
Octopizzo promise to talk about Marijuana in all of his songs until it gets legalized
As much as Octopizzo is a rapper, he might as well be an activist fighting for the common mwananchi especially fighting for the Kibera people, something that he has been doing for years even without the prying eyes of the mainstream media.
“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor Concerning non-violence: it is criminal to teach a man not to defend himself when he is the constant victim of brutal attacks. And where are all these American Gangstas that we keep hearing about, this is the time to organize.” Octopizzo added.
