When it comes to being real in person and on the internet, Octopizzo comes close to becoming synonymous with the term “real” than any other person and/or celebrity thus far.
The celebrated and respected rapper from Kibera has always spoken his truth and stand by it over the years.
For instance, he is one of not the only mainstream artiste who is behind the legalization of medicinal marijuana.
That notwithstanding, Octopizzo opened up about how the government and Kenyans, in general, don’t care about taking care of talents in the country and/or nurturing them.
This statement comes after the plight of the former boxing champion, Conjestina was visited by Carol Radull in her ushago.
Octopizzo honors his late father in a big way
Octopizzo who is an established rapper real name Henry Ohanga has since made a stand by making a bold statement on social media reiterating how collectively as a country neglects talents and Conjestina is sadly a living example.
“At times I feel this country doesn’t deserve our talents, Conjestina is and will always be a legend,” Octopizzo said in part on his social media post.
“How Githeri man got all that VIP treatment for standing in line with Nyoyo, yet our siz Conje after representing this country worldwide can’t even afford good medical health care” he added.
We all just hope and pray for a lasting solution that will see such an icon be in a position to make an impact towards the sport of boxing in this country. She still can.
Carol Radull who sparked the reactions of Kenyans about the caring for Conjestina also had some inputs to share about helping Conjestina after meeting up with her in the countryside in Yala.
“I know many have tried to assist her in various ways but unfortunately a lot of those moves have not worked.” Carol Radull said. “I am no medical expert; but I see little sense in taking someone to rehab for some time then returning them to the same challenging environment.
In my layman’s assessment; she is not mad but she does need more rehab to overcome her dependence on abusive substances.
She also needs some counseling (anger management) but she then needs to be in an environment where her mind is kept busy; where her talent is being used; where she feels useful and appreciated.
Right now she sits at home with her thoughts – doing nothing…”
