Octopizzo just proved without any provocation that he has a lot of unreleased music in his catalog that he can release without warning and make it look easy.
Octopizzo recently released two of his hit songs back-to-back this past week.
He released ‘Kilos on Kilos’ and ‘Bomba Jacket’ which are records that dropped with their visuals at the same time surprising his fans with some awesomeness in his releases.
The bonafide, prolific rapper doesn’t need to prove anything to anybody anymore because everything he sought out to achieve, he’s already done it and then some.
He makes it looks way easier than it seems every other time he releases a record or two, but his recent records dubbed ‘Kilos on Kilos’ and ‘Bomba Jacket’ where he showcases his English rap prowess have helped him achieve respect from everyone, even those who didn’t give him props for everything he has achieved in the music industry so far.
The two songs are diverse but heavily conscious of what he wants to say, the lyrics that are filled with witty metaphors and powerful punchlines dig deeper than what you listen to on the surface.
The rapper can actually write and perform a reggae song if he wants to since he got the conscious part right plus lots of his songs to have a deeper meaning and/or real-life inspiration behind them.
Octopizzo isn’t rapping for the sake of rapping, he’s rapping because he wants to touch someone’s life positively somewhere, inspire, and tell the have-nots [through his music]that anybody can make it if he made it since he came straight out the dirt.
The African-conscious rapper was like a diamond in the dirt waiting to be found and grasp an opportunity to help him make it out of the trenches when he was back in Kibera, so it might just be right for him trying –through his music– to find embers of hope within someone who wants to make it out of the ghetto life and if his music can inevitably do that, why not continue making great, timeless music that resonates with a lot of Kenyan youth today.
For that and a lot of other reasons, Octopizzo will always and feasibly forever be relevant to any music market as long as he’s breathing air in his lungs.
The two records have been pulled from his magnificent studio album dubbed ‘Fuego’. You cannot sleep on this studio project if you’re into rap and hip hop and good, quality hip hop. This project is as good as it has been advertised.
With Octopizzo, always be ready to expect the unexpected, and on his two songs that prove that he’s a versatile artiste as much as he’s a prolific, conscious, and relevant musician, he shows in more ways than one that he’s way ahead of his time in not only his music but almost every other thing he indulges himself in.
