Nyota Ndogo sought to assure her elderly husband Henning Nielsen that age was just a number to her and that she will remain a loyal wife to him even as he gets old.
The Coast-based singer poured out her heart to her Danish husband as he celebrated his 60th birthday on January 27, 2023.
“Happy 60th birthday my husband. Hata ufike miaka mia wewe ni wangu mpaka mwisho. Barafu wa moyo wangu nakupenda ama nitasema vipi kwa Kiswahili.The ice cube of my heart. Enjoy your day,” Nyota Ndogo wrote.
Nyota Ndogo, who was born on January 3, 1981, is 18 years younger than her husband.
The 42-year-old singer married Nielsen in a colorful wedding held in May 2016 after years of dating.
The two enjoyed a blissful marriage until April 1st, 2021 when they broke up.
April Fool’s Day prank temporarily cost Nyota Ndogo’s marriage to Nielsen who dumped her like a bag of rotten potatoes.
The Coast-based singer explained that her Danish ex-husband was angry over the pregnancy prank she played on April Fool’s Day.
The mother of two said her ex-husband was agitated by her pregnancy prank because they had agreed not to have any child.
According to Nyota, Nielsen did not want to have children since he felt that her two children and his own three children were enough.
“We talked about having children, he said we have five of them, we don’t need another one. By five children, he meant my daughter and son, and his own three children. He then argued that he is an adult, with grandchildren. He said, ‘I want when I retire and come to Kenya, we travel all over the world, and not babysitting,” Nyota Ndogo said.
“We used to talk twice a day. So I called him in the morning, I remember he was brushing his teeth, I told him I was pregnant. He said ‘Hmm! What?’ then hung up. I did not say anything else,” she added.
Nyota Ndogo tried in vain to save her marriage after the prank went wrong. For months she pleaded with Nielsen who didn’t want anything to do with her.
After four months apart, Nyota Ndogo and Henning Nielsen ultimately got back together in September 2022.
