Jenga Jirani Festival is about to become the biggest music concert in Kenya because of the sheer number of music heavyweights that have been lined up to perform.
About 50 local artistes are slated to perform at the mega virtual concert that is Jenga Jirani Festival, projected to be the biggest online festival in Africa reaching over 10 million people.
The virtual mega concert seeks to raise funds to help communities affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking during the media launch in Nairobi on Tuesday, the Jenga Jirani Festival chairman Jonathan Jackson said the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic is still been felt by many, and as such the need for concerted efforts to help those in dire need of humanitarian aid.
“Jenga Jirani is looking to continue supporting families both short and long term, and is calling on Kenyans to come together and help ‘jenga a jirani’,” said Jonathan Jackson.
The festival will be held on November 7th and 8th and will feature a stellar lineup of local musicians, comedians, and content creators.
Some of the industry’s heavyweights lined up for Jenga Jirani Festival include; Nyashinski, Khaligraph Jones, Eric Wainaina, Mercy Masika, Juliani, Victoria Kimani, Lady Bee, Moji Shortbabaa, Eko Dydda, Eric Omondi, MC Jessy among others.
